Poe 2 on Normal is Too Easy
im at lvl 10 in veteran and so far it hasnt been the cakewalk that everyone is talking about. Sure I'm not exactly dying or having a ton of difficulties but its not that easy either. Then again I've been doing side quests since a good 15 - 20 hours and almost zero story quest content. Side content is said to be more difficult so yeah
Difficulty kinda lowered when I found the frostseeker for my ranger, weapon is pretty op. but its the nature of the beast right ? get good gear, enchant it, do a good build and go forth
One boss literally destroyed me tho, that piece of ♥♥♥♥ in the old city. adds kept one shotting my melees :d

On Classic (which is the normal) you will find only 1-2 challenges after you reach about level 15. Everything else might as well just fall over, even dragons.

Sort of is easy, yeah. Not to the point where you can just blindly click and let AI handle everything, but still... I play on PotD and there are still some encounters that I have to leave for the future, though, and the game doesn't show me skulls (maybe due to the expert mode).
At the same time, due to the open nature of the game there are no "do or die" encounters like in PoE1, so you can circumvent a lot of danger and gradually become stronger to handle anything without issues.

I play on PotD and that's exactly what I do :D
Also playing on PoTD on GoG without min/maxing, PoE1 on hard kicked my ass more than this one. 50% fight is just auto attack. But the truly hard fight where half the enemies are 4+ level above you does require effort. The problem is: the game point out which quests are too hard for you in the quest log, so the "developer intended" way isnt really challenging. I say just go for every fight, dont pay attention to the metagame too much.
It's ironic for some. During the backer beta, it was possible to enter a fight. Have your entire party be paralyzed for 25 seconds. And then in succession have each member squishy>tank be focused down by casters that had the potential to 1 hit a character below 12 CON.
Now? My Cipher/Rogue sneaks up, charms 1. Dominates another. And then I casually watch as utterly nothing bothers with me as I chill out poking into their minds.
As people have said, if it's not well above you it's not a challenge. And with indicators to show what is/isn't above, the game is rather easy. You can also farm ship battles to silly amounts of XP and loot. Likewise for thieving. I was almost able to buy a Junk class ship before finishing that first city sector.

Sorry if I find that hard to believe for EVERY single encounter unless your party actually consists of 5 self-healing fighters, because some fights ( like against the Death Guard in Neketaka,
the Huge Cave Grub, the four Ettins in an encounter on a south-western island, the Druids on Sayuka island, etc. ) are very challenging for the level that you encounter them at. Which is especially true if you set the main story aside for a minute and just explore around in search of side quests.
The main storyline, though, doesn't require much effort, so no argument from me there.

Heard quite a lot of complaints regarding the game's difficulty level: People claim it's too easy even on Veteran. What do you think?
INDEED.. IT IS WAAAAAAY TO EASY..
like what the ♥♥♥♥. first time I played POE1 i play on hard and got a challenge on most of the bigger fights..
this time is ROFL stomp every single encounter even dragons in 1 go.. it so easy I am thinking about trashing my 40 hour champaign just so I can play POTD with level scaleing just to have abit of fun in combat
I dont even use my skills, Just left click on enemy and heal from time to time, Im buffled bu this nonsese.
Level scaling option was a red flag that game is barely ballanced in traditional way and it apparent after several fights.
God forgive me for making a rogue+barbarian character. He crits on roll of 50 with a barbarian skill and oblitirates enemies. I had to stop using it to not break game further.
I think the problem for me was that I was super overlevelled by the end. My next run I'm going to use level scaling where it only scales up if needed and see if that gives a better experience. Also, maybe I should have played above normal. I beat the first Pillars on hard but I didn't know how the mechanics may have changed so I just did the middle of the road.

I made a fighter rouge.. who DW saber's, he is also insanely op (I didnt even try to cheese, He is a "copy" of my original, no stealth rouge from POE 1) ..but holy balls he rips everything appart..
Also found a sabre that lowers the armor for everyone by 2 .. herp derp...
After fighting 1 monster that I could not penetrate. I found out penetration is the key to winning.

I suppose it would probably help if the game didn't play itself...
But they're not lying to you, you can pretty much just keep the thing on auto attack all the way through and the characters do all the work. There's no real strategy involved at all.
PoE 1 you had to be on your toes at all times or you'd get wiped.... Deadfire? well not so much.
I don't even feel like I'm playing the game... its like someone else is running it for me.
I'm playing on the standard difficulty, and it's quite easy, yeah. But at the same time, there have been times when I've had to reload an earlier save, and use more strategy in combat. For instance, I was inside a fort and killed everything that got in my way with ease... until I opened a door and found a ton of guards piled up. That didn't go well. Lol. Next time, I used stealth to open the door unseen, tossed in a bomb and walked away before the bomb exploded. I repeated this with a second bomb, and suddenly there weren't many guards left.
The enemy AI isn't always the best, either. I shot a barrel. Barrel got set on fire. Guard walked up to the (explosive) barrel to see what was going on. Cleaning lady had a bad day. Hahahaha.

I've only played PotD scaled up since the start (3 different builds on 3 games going.) I don't really see an issue with most fights being too easy. People just like talking trash. I could make a party of rod wielding paladins, two with chanter and 3 with ranger and sit behind summons and animals and blow through the game (literally,) but that would be just one playthrough. Beyond that what's the point. Some fights need work, yes. Most are just fine. I can't speak to the other difficulties though. I don't know if they're too easy or not having not played them since beta.
